Same screenname. Just bubbled the bounty game. Was 2 from cashing with 12BB and shoved QQ into AA. should be 3-3 cashes in these with a FT (got one in the deepstack hyper last night).

Baaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh close there... for some reason PT4 import failed on my PLO8 bust hand, but I opened for about 45% of my stack with A662ds, got reraised and 3 way action, and bumped in 16th.  Could have folded for a pay jump obv but not interested in ever raise/folding that good a hand there with 16 left, I don't care about the $9 pay jump, I'm playing to win the $761 on top.

Well, after the bad day yesterday and the sick bust hand in event 1 today, I'd say things turned around well despite the disappointments in all 3 for deep runs.   Back on the horse tomorrow.  Here's where we're at so far:

PostSubject: Re: OSS III - selling a small sweat   Mon Mar 31, 2014 12:37 am

Rough day today, bricked all 3 of our events, never really getting anything serious going.  I also got bumped from the High Roller after losing a flip with JJ vs. AK that would have given me 45bb's and a top 20 chip stack with 72 to go.  And I seat bubbled the Beast satty for 530 T$, when the short stacks kept doubling, until finally I was short.  I got $157.50 for 28th place but man.  This run out cost me the top 27, I went out on the next hand:

Sorry, don't want to make this update a bad beat saga, but it was sort of one of those days.  Rolling Eyes

Tomorrow we're off, no games on our schedule.  If I feel like playing I may late reg PLO but it'll be on my own dime since it's not on our play list here.  Or I'll take it easy, will just see how it goes.

Here's where were at:

So I raised pre in mid-late position 119bb deep.  Normally I would fold to the 3B, but both blinds call giving me a great price closing the action, deep, so I think I can take a flyer here.

I'm done with it on the flop.

Villain checking this flop leads me to weight his range to TT-KK.  I block JJ/TT so his most likely holding is QQ, but this turn is a nice one to bluff as he probably won't want to call with TT-QQ now, unless he's got the Qc, but my plan will be to barrel blank rivers.  And I have outs when wrong.  I get there and bet the river and he moves all in.  I thought it unlikely he would check back AcQc/AcXc on the flop, just no flush draw plays this way, so I called.  I actually thought the most likely scenario was that he held QcQx and was losing his mind on the river.   Nope... he slowplayed me into the goods, then raised when he was beat.  lol!

So I guess this looks light to some, I was asked if this might be light for a resteal... the point is it's a resteal!  If I have AK or QQ here it's not a resteal, it's a value shove!  This villain had been opening very frequently the last level, and had shown he could fold to 3bets.  This looked like a good spot with like 17.5bb to resteal, with a K blocker and a hand that plays well against some of his call off range like AQ or 77.  But I felt confident I was getting a ton of folds here, or I would have just passed.   Unlucky to run into the goods, and not suck out.  Every large field mtt I've final tabled included spots like these, you just don't see them show down often because I (hopefully) pick the spots well. At least I try to pick them well Smile  You can't just wait for premiums in the final 3 tables and expect to win.... and I'm trying to win us one, not move up half a dozen spots.  Basketball

Back on the horse tonight for 1 game (Live training @ 8ET so only the late game tonight), $11 mega stack turbo.  cheers

The mega stack turbo was ugly... the play was so crazy, it was like a hubble freeroll (ask any of the railers).  My first table had guys betting 3360 into a pot of 230, guys getting 300bb stacks in preflop without aces or kings, guys opening 15x, etc.

Anyway, I was card dead, which usually isn't a problem for me except in this I was also situation dead thanks to the maniacal play... it's tough to make moves when they're 15x-ing you  lol!

I literally only had 1 real hand, AQ, which I folded to a 3b shove + 4b reshove preflop when stacks were about 100bb's deep.  I 3-bet 4 or 5 times and they were all light.  Got away with 3/4 of them, until the last hand which was a short stack 3b shove.  I had A5s and knew he had to call, but milk was attacking this guys limping pretty aggressively so I was happy to go with a suited ace on a 9bb stack as I'm ahead quite often here (but not this time).  As Joe would say... poker happens.

Spreadsheet update coming.  We have 2 on the deck tomorrow night, and then a busy day Saturday.  FYI I will late reg the $1 rebuy PLO Saturday by like 30 minutes due to PSO class, but that won't impact anything for us as it's 15-min levels so blinds will still be small.

Bust hand tonight:

Out of the 4-max.  This was the crippling hand.  I really hate how I played this.  Fine up to the turn but this hand strength is better to check/call vs. an aggro player.  I donked the turn smallish to induce a raise, but it bloats the pot too much.  Then the bluff on the river is just dumb, much better to check/call here since it's a perfect card for him to fire all his bluffs on.  I'm targeting better J's and QQ here but I don't think those are folding, it's just not credible that the K helped me.

All in all I butchered the turn/river, shame on me.

Cashed the 15K... meh, pretty boring game from like 200 on, I never really got a stack and then just kind of limped over the money bubble with no chips. Bust hand was uneventful, 33 and shoved like 6bb's, got looked up by AJ and lost the race. 77/615 for $46.12. Total cashes now at $253.91.

6 events on the docket tomorrow....

Well gang I late reg'd the $1r PLO after live training, and quickly saw it was going to be a gamble fest as every hand was like 3-4 way all in and one guy was pot/pot all in every single hand (not kidding, he played 97/97 during the entire rebuy period and dropped probably 45 rebuys in the pool LOLOL).

So I decided I was going to pick reasonable hands to gamble with until I got us a stack, and fire as many bullets as necessary (anything over the $8 budgeted coming out of my pocket). This was my first attempt:

It was all good from there, I took only the rebuy at the start for a double stack, and the addon, so we are getting a refund of $5*1.102= $5.51 I'll add this to the prize payout for the event. We have a 46K stack
coming out of the rebuy period...  cheers
