Final Four Countdown

We are going to try something new for the Final Day of June. On June 30th we will schedule 3 different games. The first two games will be for the Eastern and Western conferences. If your team is seeded 1 and 4 (currently Sinners n Saints and Rum Runners) you should sign up for the Game 1 - Eastern Conference game. If your team is seeded 2 and 3 (currently Buzzed Stingers and White Lightning) you should sign up for Game 2 - Western Conference game. Off team players are welcome in either game. These games will be played simultaneously.

Game 3 – The Finals will be scheduled and played after the first two are complete and will be open to only the top four team players from each of the early games. Anyone who wins a top 4 spot, but cannot play in the late game, should designate another player to take their place. Off team players will not qualify for game 3. Example: team 1 player wins, off team player is second, team 2 finished 3rd, 4th ,5th ; the top four team players (1 3 4 5) advance.

In the final game only 8 team players (top 4 from each conference) will play on the Final Table for the final showdown. All games will count for monthly scores so it could be a way to come from behind for some teams or stretch the lead for others.

OK the standings were unchanged so it will be the Sinners n Saints playing in the same game as the Rum Runners in Game 1. Then the Buzzed Stingers will play against the White Lightning in Game 2.

Be sure to read the tourney descriptions to make sure you are in the right game. All players who are not on a team are welcome to play in either or both of the games.

Any questions before the games, post them here and I will try to answer before we start.

OK some folks did not like the Final Four being used last night. And upon reflection, they are absolutely right. You don't run a game for a month and then change the rules on the last night. I apologize to anyone that may have been affected by the change. It did not make a difference in the finishing order of the teams, but technically might have affected the finishing order of the players. For that I am sorry.

But I still like the idea of ending the month with some what of a flourish, so with that in mind, should we keep the final four format for July? Or dump the idea? My feelings won't be hurt in the least so please be honest. What do you think?

if the month ended on a weeknight, it'd be way too long for anyone that had to get up for work the next day.

Yeah - It did take much longer than I thought. And scheduling was kind of a pain in the backside.

I am just reading this now, only a month late.... but I do want to say something positive about the creativity you bring to the Tank. Thank you for all of the time and effort you take to make being a part of the Tank something more than just the boring samo ol' same o'l stuff.

I always forget that when you click on a topic like "Drunk Tank 1"... there's a whole bunch of other topics to be read... I guess those are called "threads", right? I still am so forum illiterate! I either browse the main page that lists all of the "threads"? or click on one of the links at the bottom of the home page to see what's happening... I find that I miss quite a bit of stuff by using the forum this way.

Maybe someone has a better way they will share to get me up to speed with all that goes down day to day?
