Survey for Tank 1

Hey Gang - In a couple of weeks we will be starting a new year. With that in mind I thought we might take this opportunity to make some changes about the way we run the Tank. I have created a questionnaire below and would like the members of the Tank to weigh in on what changes you might like to see, or what things you would like to stay the same.

1) Would you like to see the Team Challenge continue monthly? If so, what changes could we make?

2) Would you like to see our current schedule change (ie Monday Madness, Turd Tursday)? If so, what changes?

3) Would you like to see the start time change? If so, what would be a good time?

4) Would you like to see more games scheduled? If so, which games and how often?

5) Would you like to see more Sadie Hawkins type competitions?

6) Would you like to suggest any other changes to the club?

Please provide any answers to these questions as a post to this thread, or as a PM to me. I will compile the results and try to implement as many as we can. I don't promise we will make all the changes, but those that are the most popular, will certainly get consideration.

Yes, as a special let the first lady tanker that wins the monthly leaderboard have all Tanker Babe team if she wants

I like TJ's idea hour earlier on weekends

Anything that involves rum is good by me.lol

To clarify #3 - The time is good but if others need a new 1 I'm okay with that too.

6 like playing a wide variety of games (PLO, Draw.HORSE, Razz, 2-7 etc.) Turd Thursday provides that but usually not available to play on that day. Wish there was another option for playing different games other than just on Thursdays, just a thought.

1. Yes, the Team Challenge is the difference that adds an even more competitive spirit to each game, that also motivates us to play our very best. I know personally, I want to be a contributor to the team I am on and show that I add value.
   
   
2. As far a changes, I know we have a couple of members that aren't fans of the Team Challenge piece and I recall some grumblings that team play makes the end results unfair (which I've never felt personally). Perhaps to curb this line of thinking, after each game... as one is taken out, we would document here in the forum the person that took us out and in the finally tally of knock-outs we would be able to show the ratio of knock-outs that were cannibal KO's to non-cannibal KO's? This would be a lot of work however and isn't something that I expect is necessary... it was just a thought though as I expect with this survey was what you were hoping to receive back... thoughtful input?
   
   Note; I reread that and thought "goodness, that could be taken as I was saying that others didn't provide thoughtful input" which is SO NOT what I meant, I was just saying this to give reason why I would fill out this survey with so many dang words vs. a "yes", "no", or "maybe so" response to the questions.
   
   (No way are you all getting THAT lucky!)

1. Schedule is fine but would it be possible to make a new rule for the Turd Tursday's = NO 5-Card Draw Allowed LOL (Oh why you ask? cuz I suck at this game... I know, all selfish stuff here)

3) Would you like to see the start time change? If so, what would be a good time?

1. I liked the 7pm PST start time we used to have but understand this is difficult for almost all others apart of the Tank.

4) Would you like to see more games scheduled? If so, which games and how often?

1. No, too many games are going on at the same time now as it is. Makes it difficult to play well and enjoy the time spent in the Tank, which is where I feel has the best fun-filled atmosphere, that still almost always is serious about playing a good game with almost zero cranky folks or rude commenting people that aren't looking to help others improve but to make excuses for their horrible play.

5) Would you like to see more Sadie Hawkins type competitions?

1. Sure... however, I wasn't able to participate in but only one due to that stupid fire in September so I honestly don't recall how many games were involved but if instead of these types being on only one day each week... would it be possible to set them up every day but only let's say the best score out of the week be used to calculate the winning team? That way both people have a chance to play and if others decide to play more than some teams are able to due to work and other scheduling conflicts then only one score would be used and the best one would be it?

6) Would you like to suggest any other changes to the club?

1. The only thing that has come to mind from time to time is how I wish there was a way to figure out a system where we can use PayPal to incorporate real money play, however... this is probably not possible and would jeopardize us all from being able to play on PokerStars forever and that would not be cool... but if we could figure something out that wouldn't compromise our ability to play on PokerStars... that would be cool.
   
   
2. Well, there is one more thing... I wish we could figure out how to thank you Johnny for all you do in a way that would mean very much to you... I hope you know how thankful we are for everything you do to keep the Tank alive and all of us together!
   
   
3. Oops, one more thing... can we get rid of calling it Drunk Tank 1 or Drunk Tank 2? Two reasons for this, first being it sounds lame (no offense effsea) and two, if those of us wanted to rail games in Tank 2 (or vice verse-a I suppose) and weren't a member (like most of us in 1 that weren't invited to be in 2 for obvious reasons) we didn't exactly know when these games were being held and we couldn't easily rail these games without turning into super stalkers to hunt peeps down and even then I don't think we could rail if we weren't a member anyway? I don't know for sure since I never got to the "super stalker" mode to find out.

Having read all the input there seems no point in me having a whinge about the start time, 95% seem to like it, but for us in the UK 2am is a no go wnen your working. Enjoy and have fun.

hear ya gate.........the start time has always been an issue,

With peeps working shifts/different time zones etc.

Here in Canada we have 5 time zones I think......effed up eh....hiccup

It's somewhat hard to make it work for all.......and most likely never will.....but will do our best to keep the tank a place to hang out and enjoy.

1 yes do away with the 1 point per nock out and the 1 point pear game a player can make more points in nock outs and not get in the points than to players on a team can get for 1st and second . i think it wos a lot beter before you aded the nock outs and points per game.

As a result of some of the input from this survey I would like to announce a new Change to the January Line up of games.

Starting in January the Saturday Showboat showdown will become the Deep Stack Showboat showdown. It will have a starting stack of 10K chips and will start 1 hour earlier on Saturday. We will still have a bonus of 1000 chips for anyone reaching a showdown with a Full Boat or better. Just seek me out and let me know and I will transfer it to you.
