Drunk Tank Team Challenge

The fourth period for February is now completed, and one of the teams is proving to be the dominant sex.  However, both of the other two teams are still within striking distance.

As usual team play and performance is outstanding.  The all girl team (along with their bartender) still seem intent on pushing all the guys around.  


Still hanging on to their first place lead with In the Points (ITP) scores by several members of the team including CaseyBaby1, zzHoneyBeezz, Morganhell's, Horsewoman72, and Effsea, was team Hiccups.  Congratulations to Effsea who took down a first place win.
 
Despite a strong a collection of ITP wins by nearly every member of the team, including contributions by Tom905, Howitzer2007, Rhino4646, Jordan2652, and Moxie Pip. The Boozers fell short to land into second place. Adding to the total with 3 of the 5 first place wins were Jordan and Howitzer.
   
In this the fourth period of the month, Team Wizards still find themselves in third place, despite ITP performances from GmaJudy, Wetmoose 613, Nobisquit, and GandalfDwite.  There was also a first place win by Nobisquit.
 
When asked, Captain Gandalf said,  "We were discussing this around the campfire - then I burned my mutton."

Sometimes we have a month where one team will take the lead and just stay there. This month one team charged out of the gate and just kept running to the finish line.  In the end, it would be a bunch of babes wearing bras (yes even Eff was wearing one) who all got in a conga line to sing, "We just won the Drunk Tank, We just won the Drunk Tank."

Despite a valiant effort that included a tromp through the enchanted forest and coupled with some ITP scores by GmaJudy, Psychovas, Buzzliyear, Nobisquit, and GandalfDwite.  Including 4 first place wins by Buzzliyear, Nobisquit, and B2B wins by GandalfDwite, The Wizards team has ended this season in last place.  So if you see any of them looking like they just got tied up in spider webs you will understand why. They do, however, win the third place prize of 2K play chips to be given away at the payout table to the team members.

In second place for the season is The Boozers.  The fast drinking team fought hard to the end with impressive showings from several of the members which included contributions by TrumpinJoe, Tom905, Howitzer2007, and Johnny Oak, still it was not enough to catch up to the Hiccups lead.  There were 3 first place wins posted by Howitzer and Johnny.  They will get the second place prize of 5K chips per member.

In the end it was an awesome steady and all around performance of the girls pushing the guys around, coupled with a wise advice from a drunken bartender, that caused a win for the Hiccup team.  It was a strong contingent of players that saw contributions from every member of the team including Morganhell's, Phoenix Maya, Tteradactyl, CaseyBaby1, Horsewoman72, zzHoneyBeezz, and Effsea, that was good enough to take Team Hiccup into an exclusive lead on the final day of the season.  Providing assistance was Tteradactyl who added a first place win. They will split the first place prize of 10K chips for each of the players.

This is the month for March Madness. For this March we will continue with our regular format. We will have three teams who will be playing for top points and bragging rights, but our lone lady Captain has indicated that she would like to see her name on a trophy. All members who finished in the top 21 from the prior month and had 5 or more games will be qualified to be added to the teams. For anyone who didn't, please stop in and play so you can be qualified for next month's Challenge.

As usual, here are a few suggestions and rules to make it fair to everyone... This is a fun challenge and a friendly competition... NO ganging up on opposing members, OR taking it easy on your own members. Play as you normally do and at the end of the month, after the final game has been played, the points will be tallied to see which group gets bragging rights.

Rule 1 – The top three players (from the previous month) will be assigned as Captains of their teams and will get the honor of naming that team. (If a player declines we will go to next in line on that team.)

Rule 2 – Teams will consist of 7 players initially assigned to each team. If any member of a team has not played for a 5 day period within the month, the Captain can request (via a PM to me) that they be replaced by the next highest eligible player (see replacement policy below). All points earned by the replacement up to that point will be added to the gaining team’s score.

Rule 3 – The winning team will receive bragging rights and a wonderful trophy. In addition 10K chips to be made available to each of their team members (10K a piece). Second place team will get 5K. Third place will get the thrill of having played a great game.

Rule 4 – This month we will be using a scoring system to include a combined score of Tanker Points* and Knock Outs.

*Tanker Points are assigned by order of finish and depend on the number of players in each game. All players will get some points for each game. (Example: If 12 players, top player gets 12 points, bottom player gets 1 point) So even if you come in last, you will still get points for your team.

Replacement Policy – All players of the Drunk Tank that were not selected to be on one of the three teams will automatically be added to a free agents team. If a player misses five or more days the Captain can request a replacement. At that time I will assign the highest scoring free agent to the team. If this free agent has opted out for the month I will send them a one-time request to join a team. If they respond within 24 hrs, that they would like to join, they will be added. If they turn down the request, (or do not respond), they will then become unavailable for the rest of the month. Only one replacement will be allowed for each 5-day period, and no replacements are allowed in the final period.

I will add updates to this thread (approx) every 5 days as to how the teams are doing. Good luck to all three teams and hope we can have a close race this month.

Hard to believe we are already into March of this year, and one of the teams has taken an early lead.  Of course, it is very early in the contest, and anything could happen for the rest of the month.

As usual the team play and performance is outstanding.  We are currently using a three team format, but perhaps we can get back to four teams in the next few months.  Until then we still have a very impressive crew with one horse riding captain leading the way.


Leaping into first place with an extremely strong combination of ITP wins by TrumpiJoe, Buzzliyear, Rhino4646, Nobisquit, and Johnny Oak, who combined to finish in all 5 tournies was team Boozers.  Included was a first place win by Johnny Oak.  

Allthough there was an impressive collection of wins by several members of the team, including Wetmoose 613, Effsea, Howitzer2007, and GandalfDwite, Team Wizards fell just short to land into second place.  Congratulations to Howitzer and Gandalf who combined to post 3 first place wins as well.  

In this the first period of the month, Team Funny Farm now find themselves in third place, despite point contributions by Morganhell's, Jordan2652, Phoenix Maya, and Horsewoma72.  The horse lady also contributed with one first place win as well.

When asked, Captain HW said,  "If the damn ice ever thaws up here, we will do better."

Ok after a long delay we are finally catching up with our March results, and one of the teams has taken advantage of a missing captain to sneak into the lead.  But I am back now and we will see if they can hold on to it for the rest of the month.

From the looks of it the team play and performance is still outstanding and we have a big Party game scheduled for the end of the month.
