Drunk Tank Team Challenge II

We are now into the fifth period results for March, and we are heading for the finish line for the month.  The number one team has again solidified its position and is way out front. There are still 5 other horses in the race, but they better move quickly if they are going to catch this one.

The attendance has dropped back down a little, maybe we need Eff to start wearing pants and not be so gross at the table.  Listed below are the current teams in the Top 3 positions.



Maintaining their lead in first place with a strong combination of In the Points (ITP) wins, KO's and FT's was the team of zzHoneyBeezz and Effsea.  Congratulations to Honeybee who took down a first place win.

Allthough they are both scoring well with a total of 3 ITP finishes Wetmoose 613 and LeoDD383 could not catch up to leaders and fell just short to land into second place.  

In this fifth period of the month, Team Johnny Oak and Nobisquit remain in third place, despite a combination of ITP, FT, and KO contributions from both members.  

Other Game point contributions came from Horsewoman72, Rhino4646, and GandalfDwite.

Also scoring 2 first place wins was GandalfDwite, and 1 for Horsewoman for the teams, and Oriholic for the free agents.

Well, ok not really, it was the stupid netz, rewired my antenna, rebooted lappy, router everything... kicked the laptop... swore alot...

Well it was another challenge for this month.  Sometimes these things are close, sometimes it's a run-away.  This month one team took the lead after the first half of the month and never looked back.  In the end, it would be the Red Head of the North outback paired with a pantless Drunk that got the right to sing, "We just won the Drunk Tank, We just won the Drunk Tank."

Despite a valiant effort that included a last minute push at the end of the month and coupled with 5 ITP scores and 2 first place wins by Johnny Oak and Nobisquit, this team has ended this season in third place.  So if you see a lonely breakfast food sitting in a tree looking like almost winners you will understand why. They do, however, win the third place prize and our thanks for a job well done.

In second place for the season is Team LeoDD383 and Wetmoose 613.  This well matched pair fought hard to the end with impressive showings from both members which included 2 first place wins by Leo  that brought them up in the standings.  Still it was not enough to catch the massive lead by the other team.  They will get the second place prize $5 each and honorable mention.

In the end it was an awesome steady and all around performance of two of the Tanks most beloved characters who continuously scored high in the rankings.  Seems like when one was off the other took the lead. It was a strong performance by zzHoneyBeezz and Effsea that saw contributions from both members and included a first place win by Eff, that was good enough to take the Team into an exclusive lead on the final day of the season.  They will split the first place prizes of $10 for each of the players.

Congrats to the winners

Well if you thought last month was fun, let’s do it again.  We have enough money from our benefactor for one more round.  For this month we will be sticking with the new format.  We will have teams made up of two people per team who will be playing for top points and bragging rights.  The top 12 members who finished last month with 15 or more games will be qualified and added to the teams. For anyone who didn't, please stop in and play more often so you can be qualified for next month's Challenge.

As before, here are a few suggestions and rules to make it fair to everyone... This is a fun challenge and a friendly competition...  NO ganging up on opposing members, OR chip dumping to your partners.  Checking down a hand with only you and your partner is acceptable, but all other team play tactics should be avoided.  Play as you normally do in the Tank and at the end of the month, after the final game has been played, the points will be tallied to see which team gets bragging rights.

Rule 1 – The Top 12 members that played 15 or more games from the previous month will be paired High to Low according to their finishing order (as determined by PS standings).  So if 12 players qualify, 1 will be paired with 12, 2 with 11, and so forth.  (If a player declines we will go to next in line.)

Rule 2 – Teams will consist of 2 players initially assigned to each team. If either member of a team has not played for a 5 day period within the month, the partner can request (via a PM to me) that they be replaced by the next highest eligible player (see replacement policy below). All points earned by the replacement up to that point will be added to the gaining team’s score.  

Rule 3 – The winning team will receive bragging rights (including a virtual trophy) as well as a prize worth $20 to distribute to their team members (10 apiece).  Second place team will get a prize worth $10 (5 apiece).  Third place will get a big “Thank You for Playing” bumper sticker.

Rule 4 – This season we will use a scoring system to include 1 point for every Final Table, 1 point for each KO, and the combined Game points provided from the Poker Stars Game format.  

So here are the new teams as determined by last month's finishing order,

Replacement Policy – All players of the Drunk Tank that were not selected to be on one of the teams, and have played 5 games in either the current or previous month, will automatically be added to a free agents list.  If a player misses five or more consecutive days the Partner can request a replacement.  At that time I will assign the highest scoring free agent (if there is one) to the team.  If this free agent has opted out for the month I will send them a one-time request to join a team.  If they respond within 24 hrs, that they would like to join, they will be added.  If they turn down the request, (or do not respond), then they will become unavailable for the rest of the month.  Only one replacement will be allowed for each month, and no replacements are allowed in the final period.

Special Note:  At any time during the first 15 days of competition, any two free agents can form a new and separate team.  Simply PM me, or post on the Club Wall, the two names that wish to play.  All points earned by both players will count for their total score.  After 15 days, free agents can only become replacement partners.

I will add updates to this thread (approx) every 5 days as to how the teams are doing.  Good luck to all the teams and hope we can have a close race this month.

The first period results for April are in, and it looks like it's going to be one of those tight races.  The lead has changed just in the last minute.  However, it is very early in the race, and the top 3 teams are bumping around for position.

Although we have suffered a slight decline in attendance due to spring fever, we did have to reduce the number of teams.  That's all right, the remaining teams will offer the team spirit I was hoping for.  The two person teams will still make for a serious competition.  Listed below are the current teams in the Top 3 positions.


Sneaking their way into first place just last night, with a strong combination of 4 In the Points (ITP) wins by both Johnny Oak and FLSnookman.  Congratulations to the Snookman who took down an incredible back-to-back pair of first place wins.

Allthough they had a tremendous start and both scored well, Horsewoman72 and LeoDD383 fell short to land into second place.  
 
In this first period of the month, Team GandalfDwite and Tom905 find themselves in third place, despite ITP, FT, and KO contributions from both members.  With Gandalf scoring a first place win.

Other Game point contributions came from Effsea, Phoenix Maya, Wetmoose 613, and zzHoneyBeezz.

There was also a first place win by Wetmoose for the teams and Howitzer2007 for the free agents.

One of the teams has requested and received a roster change.  The new player will be Howitzer2007 and he will be added to Wetmoose's team, his accumulated points will be added to the receiving team's total score.  This player will replace a player that has been inactive for over 5 days.  Good luck to all the teams and look for a new update here after the 10th.

OK we have now completed the second period results for April, and we have a new line up for the top 3 teams.  However, the scores are close in the race, and still plenty of time for any of the teams to catch up to them.

So we had to drop down to 6 teams, so what - that just means more fun.  Meanwhile the remaining teams are making for some serious competition.  Listed below are the current teams in the Top 3 positions.



Moving up into first place with a strong combination of In the Points (ITP) wins, KO's and FT's was the team of Johnny Oak and FLSnookman.  Congratulations to Snookman who (despite his fishy name) seems on fire this month, and took down 2 first place wins.

Allthough they both scored a total of 4 ITP finishes GandalfDwite and Tom905 fell just short to land into second place.  With Gandalf scoring a first place win while trying to keep hobbits in place.

In this second period of the month, Team Horsewoman72 and LeoDD383 find themselves in third place, despite a combination of ITP, FT, and KO contributions from both members.  Also included was awesome first place win by Horsewoman.

Other Game point contributions came from Phoenix Maya, and Wetmoose.

Maintaining their hold on first place mostly on the strength of the lead players accomplishments, of In the Points (ITP) wins, KO's and FT's was the team of Johnny Oak and FLSnookman.  Almost seems like the fish and wizard are always at the top each night.

Allthough they both scored a total of 3 ITP finishes GandalfDwite and Tom905 fell just short to land into second place.  With Gandalf scoring a first place win in the shadow of the Lonely Mountain.

In this third period of the month, Team Effsea and Phoenix Maya find themselves in third place, despite a combination of ITP, FT, and KO contributions from both members.  Congratulations to Phoenix Maya who also scored with a first place win.

Other Game point contributions came from Wetmoose 613, Howitzer2007, MeowSasKitty, Horsewoman72, zzHoneyBeezz, and Rhino4646.

Also scoring first place wins for their teams were Wetmoose and and Howitzer, and Oriholic chocked one up for the free agents.
