If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe it, but we now have a new record for the number of knockouts in a single game. The new record holder is Mischiff with a total of 16 knockouts in last night's game. That beats our previous record holder, TrumpinJoe, by 5 KO's. This will be a hard record to beat.

Well Mis we did say you were dangerous if you chip up early............wow quite the record.

The fourth period results for August are here, and for a few short days the second place team was in first but then lost it back on the last night. However, the gap is even tighter and they are running neck and neck.

Once again the team play and performance is outstanding. We did set a new record for the number of players in a single game, it is now 37 which occurred last Friday night. It is amazing to be at the final table and see how many people are still hanging around cheering their mates on. Way to go Tankers.


After losing their grip on first place for a few days but then gaining it back with some strong contributions by GmaJudy, Hozzer44820, Chilli 2U, 11Scorpious11, Chelle867, and GTAE92, was team Rambling Wrecks. There was also a very good first place showing by GmaJudy.

Allthough there was an impressive collection of wins by several members of the team, including BrayleeGirl, Johnny Oak, XXChris123, Grade b, and !!!111Dan, Team We Play Naked fell just short to land into second place. There was also another first place win by Grade b.

Not far behind but still in third place, the members of the Ducks and Trucks had a good collection of wins by several members including Phoenix Maya, JWK24, Effsea, and Faery Tats.

We are now in the last phase of the month, and The Rum Runners still find themselves in fourth place, despite point contributions by JerseyRon, Easychips4U, Julestubby25, 1Timmy2121, and Jordan2652. With an additional extra boost of 2 first place wins by Julestubby25 and 1Timmy2121.

When asked, Captain Jordan said, "Like it says in the mirror - Objects may be closer than they appear."

Team We Play Naked has requested and received a roster change. The new player will be Tom905 and his accumulated points will be added to team Naked's total score. This player will replace a player that has been inactive for over 5 days. As of today this leaves the team in very close second place. Good luck to all the teams and look for a new update here after the 25th.

Lots of strategy going on here it seems. How is the replacement player determined each time? Is it always going to be someone who has accumulated more points this month than the person being replaced? I assume that is just coincidence. The replaced person's points, ko's and games played are subtracted before the new players points are added? The captain doesn't pick the person right? Its based on finish for the previous month? It looks like my days of being team captain are numbered with this month's performance but at least I will know the process for next time. Thanks!

Not a whole lot of strategy. If a player misses more than 5 days, they can be replaced. The free agent with the highest score for the current month gets placed on the team. I believe that the removed player's score is subtracted.

Dan is correct on all points.

Normally I try to notify the Captain when a person is replaceable (if they haven't noticed already) and who the next available free agent is according to score. The Captain does not get to pick. Old player is subtracted before new player is added. Also only one player replacement is allowed per period per team.

The Fifth period results for August have been recorded, and it still remains a very close race. Perhaps if the second place team could at least wear sneakers, they might just catch up.

All month long the team play and performance has been outstanding. It really is fun to be at the final table and see how many people are still hanging around cheering their mates on. Way to go Tankers.

Hey Johnny,

Not sure I'm even going to stay in the top 32 by end of week, but in case I do, I am heading to coast for first two weeks of Sept to deal with some of my Dad's estate stuff, so I will be pretty hit and miss for getting into the nightly games.

Probably best to omit me from a team for September.

I will continue to try to get in when I can.

I want to apologize to everyone for last night, and in particular to my team for making a decision that cost us valuable points when we are close to the end and in such a tight race. I love having fun here, but I do tend to take the teams very seriously. I shouldn't have risked it, even with some degree of certainty of it being a good play. Some times the decisions we make have to be based on the big picture, and not on a specific hand.
I am sorry Mischiff, and those who watched, for showing the disdain I did after the play. I'll do my best to control that in the future.
I hope we all do our best these last 2 days. Good luck everyone.

No need to apologize to me, I do understand the frustration of the moment when you make a good technical decision and the randomness of the game we love bites you.

Having stated that, I also would make exactly the same play I did if I had the chance to do it over again. I knew I was certainly behind after your reraise, but I also had built my stack such that the risk of calling was worth the potential to take a player out of the game and even if I lost the hand, I could afford it.

You know my style is often fast and loose and you correctly put me on a wide range. I have great respect for you as a player (and as a person, you're a good guy Dano). I know you know that this game is more than simply making good technical decisions, as if that was really true no one would play it as us donks would never win.

I'm good with last night and I am a little disappointed that my style caused some friction. But I won't change how I play or apologize for how I play.

I love playing in the Tank. Awesome peeps. Great game brought by all most every night. My life is a bit of a roller coaster right now and I've said it before, you guys give me refuge.

Hey JO,

Any chance you have updated team standings with one night to go? Or at least a rough idea of how much ground We Play Naked has made on 1st Place? I imagine with the your teams good play the last 2-3 nights and a rough few nights for the Rambing Wrecks, you are looking at us in your rear view mirror. Just wondered if the team results could still be decided on the last night tonight. If you don't have it updated, I understand. At least one of the Wrecks can take tonight's tournament down!

We need all wreckers and naked people to show up tonight for the last game. There is only a 6.25 difference between first and second. The wreckers still have the lead but the naked's can catch em with some good play.

In our history there have only been a few months that came down to the wire. This was truly a photo finish with less than a point between the top two teams. There was even some swapping the lead back and forth in the fourth period but with a regaining of the lead in the fifth and final periods. Still it was a nail biter on the last night when the Captains called for all hands on deck to do battle. In the end it would be the Rambling Wrecks of Tanker Tech who got to sing, "We just won the Drunk Tank, We just won the Drunk Tank."

Despite an extraordinary effort throughout the season and even some last minute efforts which included scores by JerseyRon, Julestubby25, QueenBee9979, 1Timmy2121, and Jordan2652, team Rum Runners has ended this season in last place. So if you see any of them running for the exits, tell them better luck next month.

Although there was a good effort by several members of the team which included contributions in the last period by Megg23, zzHoneyBeezz, JWK24, Effsea, and Faery Tats, team Ducks and Trucks found themselves in third place for the season. They do, however, win the third place prize of 1600 play chips to distribute to the team members.

In second place for the season is team We Play Naked. Even though they were close for the entire season, they fought hard to the end with an impressive 11 ITM showings in the last period including contributions by Tom905, Sandtrap777, BrayleeGirl, Johnny Oak, XXChris123, and !!!111Dan, with 2 back to back first place wins by Johnny Oak, still it was not enough to catch up to the Wreckers lead. They will get the second place prize of 4000 chips to give to their members.

In the end it was the awesome and steady performance of the players coupled with the determination of Captain GTAE that caused a win for the Rambling Wrecks. It was a strong contingent of players that combined for 9 ITM placements. Continued strong showings by nearly all members including GmaJudy, Chilli 2U, Mcrissinger, 11Scorpious11, Chelle867, and GTAE92, that was good enough to push Team Rambling Wrecks into an exciting lead on the final day of the season. They will split the first place prize of 8000 chips amonst it's players.

Congrats to Team We Play Naked for great play in August and for making things interesting right down to the wire! A personal thanks to Chelle867, 11SCorpious11, Horsewoman72, Mcrissinger, Chilli 2 U, Hozzer44820 and GmaJudy for carrying the Rambling Wrecks from start to finish. Incredible participation by the whole team with a total of 208 games played between the 8 players. That is what saved our butt and allowed us to squeak out a victory!

While Team Rambling Wrecks take a break for this month, I'm sure the four teams for September will be even more competitive! I look forward to seeing all of you at the tables!
