We started this team challenge over a year ago and now we are going into our next year. For this September we will once again have four teams who will be playing for top points and bragging rights. Anyone who finished in the top 32 from the prior month and had 5 or more games will be qualified to be added to the teams. For those who didn't, please stop in and play so you can be qualified for next month's Challenge.

As usual, here are a few suggestions and rules to make it fair to everyone... This is a fun challenge and a friendly competition... NO ganging up on opposing members, OR taking it easy on your own members. Play as you normally do and at the end of the month after the final game has been played the points will be tallied to see which group gets bragging rights.

Rule 1 – The top four players (from the previous month) will be assigned as Captains of their teams and will get the honor of naming that team.

Rule 2 – Teams will consist of 8 players initially assigned to each team. If any member of a team has not played for a 5 day period within the month, the Captain can request (via a PM to me) that they be replaced by the next highest eligible player (see replacement policy below). All points earned by the replacement up to that point will be added to the gaining team’s score.

Rule 3 – The Captain of the winning team will receive 8000 chips to distribute to their team members. Second place team will get 4000. Third place will get 1600, and Fourth place will get to smell the coffee in the other room.

Rule 4 – This season we will still be using a scoring system that includes a combined score of Points, Games, and Knock Outs.

Replacement Policy – All players of the Drunk Tank that were not selected to be on one of the four teams will automatically be added to a free agents team. If a player misses five or more days the Captain can request a replacement. At that time I will assign the highest scoring free agent to the team. If this free agent has opted out for the month I will send them a one-time request to join a team. If they respond within 24 hrs, that they would like to join, they will be added. If they turn down the request, (or do not respond), they will then become unavailable for the rest of the month. Only one replacement will be allowed per team for each 5-day period, and no replacements are allowed in the final period.

I will add updates to this thread (approx) every 5 days as to how the teams are doing. Good luck to all four teams and hope we can have another close race this month.

Also note I have attached a PDF with all the team names if you wish to download or print it out.

And while I have you... here's a quick update on last night's fire that burnt down the place next door to us... All was lost but it seems the owner was the one doing the deed so no need to feel sorry I guess... at least I don't anymore.

However, PG&E did shut our power off, ironically just after I said to the peeps in the Tank last night that power was on and good to go... then wham... lights out. It was like camping though...

So, until we can get an electrician out here and have the city do an inspection since the fire reached the box we were connected to from the neighbors power source... we will be without power or running water (since it comes via an electric well) until Tuesday. Great holiday weekend, boy oh boy!

Husband did just came home with a generator for the fridge and for me to jump on here... so... yes, I believe he gets brownie points, right??? lol

Anyhow, if you guys are doing a re-count please let me know know ASAP, thanks so much! See you guys tonight I hope!

I know you will find this hard to believe, but I made a mistake when creating the teams. There were two players that had requested to be placed on the Free Agents list and I accidently put them on a team. I have corrected this by adding the next two players that were in the finish from last month and have edited the page so it now reads correctly. The new players will be Oriholic and Morganhell's and their accumulated points will be added to their teams total score. These are players that should have been on the list already, but for my error, and did not make any difference in the current overall placements of the teams. Good luck to all the teams and look for a new update here after the 5th.

The first period results for September are in, and one of the teams has jumped into an early lead. However, it is very early in the contest, and there could still be some come from behind winners.

Once again the team play and performance is outstanding. We do have a lot of players who have opted out for this month, but we will try to get them back in the next few months. Until then we still have a very impressive crew with two first time captains leading the way.


Leaping into first place with an extremely strong combination of wins by Sinman64, Chelle867, Julestubby25, Effsea, and Johnny Oak who combined to finish in all 5 tournies was team Boozers. Congratulations to Johnny Oak who posted 2 first place wins as well.

Allthough there was an impressive collection of wins by several members of the team, including Horsewoman72, zzHoneyBeezz, 1Timmy2121, Gtae92, and GmaJudy, Team Beer Battered fell just short to land into second place. There was help of a first place win in this group by HoneyBee.

In a battle for third place, the members of the Thugzz, Jugzz, and Frosted Mugzz had a good collection of wins by it's members including Dgg4, BrayleeGirl, XXChris123, and Hozzer44820, with an additional first place win by XXChirs123.

In this the first period of the month, Team Justin Bieber Sucks now find themselves in fouth place, despite point contributions by HoboJim11247, Megg23, Chilli 2U, and !!!111Dan.

When asked, Captain Dan quoted lyrics from his favorite Bieber song, "Change is coming my way, I was born to be somebody."

Well I was at a final table, and there were some beautiful women there, and they all belonged to a team called Beer Battered, maybe my mind just filled in the rest.

I can tell you that as of tonight the Beer Brats are still in first place, but the Justin Bieber fan club has taken over second place.

Well I just flew back from San Francisco and boy are my arms tired.

We are now complete with the fourth and fifth periods, and one of the teams is still kicking butts and taking names. However, the other three teams are bunched up together and any one of them could make a break for it and come from behind.

Once again the team play and performance is outstanding. We are showing a slowdown in attendance because a lot of players have opted out for this month, but we will try to get them back in the next few months.
