Drunk Tank Team Challenge

think yu shld leave it as it is JO ...

why mess up what yu have .... makes it harder for some to make a team ..that do wanna play ..

least this way more can play /and doesnt show that the tank teams favor only the few that do well
all the time
or for only certain ppl....

i would more be in favor of getting rid of sit outs after the first break ..

if they dont show by then . well get rid of them...

its pretty sad when a player gets beat by a sit out ..



suggestion JO .. why not have 3--- 10 man teams ??? .. be a bit less

I can see the value in reducing the number of teams to three in the short term until our number of regular daily participants increases, I would agree with that change.

I want to thank all of the members of the Funny Farm, !!!111Dan, QueenBee9979, Sculpt51, Phoenix Maya, EasyChips4U, Buzzz904, JerseyRon for all of the time and effort you have put in playing for our team this month. Win or lose it has been a privilege to be your captain this month, I had great fun cheering you on this month with our team cheer, thanks so much Dano for supplying us with that. Thanks all for this wonderful opportunity. I had to really search for a photo of me least of all one of me on a horse, so as I ride off into the sunset of this month just remember.

There is a 411 in progress on Halloween night. The Honey Mooner gang is trying to steal the trophy. We need all Boozers to meet at the Final Table to stop this crime.

Sometimes these things are dominated, sometimes it's close, but this month it was like two prizefighters trading blows. As soon as one team would get the lead, the other team would take it back. In the end it would be Honey's Mooners who got to sing, "We just won the Drunk Tank, We just won the Drunk Tank."

Despite a valiant effort throughout the season and even some last minute heroics which included scores by Buzzz904, Phoenix Maya, QueenBee9979, !!!111Dan, and Horsewoman72, Including 2 first place wins by Dan, team Funny Farm has ended this season in last place. So if you see any of them struggling to get out of their straight jackets, tell them better luck next month.

Although there was a good effort by several members of the team which included contributions in the last period by Rhino4646, Tom905, Dale442, 11Scorpious11, and JWK24, team Oktoberfest found themselves in third place for the season. They do, however, win the third place prize of 1600 play chips to distribute to the team members.

In second place for the season is team Boozers. Even though they were in first many times throughout the season, and they fought hard to the end with impressive showings in the last period including contributions by Dgg4, Megg23, 1Timmy2121, Chilli 2U, and Johnny Oak, with 1 first place wins by Chilli, still it was not enough to catch up to the Mooner lead. They will get the second place prize of 4000 chips to give to their members.

In the end it was the incredible steady performance of the players coupled with the always present and awesome support of Captain HoneyBee that caused a win for the Honey's Mooners team. It was a strong contingent of players that combined for 10 ITM placements. Strong showings by nearly all members including Wetmoose 613, Howitzer2007, HoboJim11247, CatnDogLvr, and zzHONEYBEEzz, including 3 first place wins by Howitzer and HoboJim, that was good enough to launch Team Honey's Mooners into an exclusive lead on the final day of the season. They will split the first place prize of 8000 chips amonst it's players.

To all the Boozers - it was a well fought fight. Everytime we threw a right hook they came up with a left jab.

Still it was a great effort and a pleasure to be a part of such a good team.

Sorry JO was a bad month for me; I owe you one!

Ahhh Yes, the team challenge continues. For this November we will have to scale down slightly to just three teams who will be playing for top points and bragging rights. Anyone who finished in the top 27 from the prior month and had 5 or more games will be qualified to be added to the teams. For those who didn't, please stop in and play so you can be qualified for next month's Challenge.

As usual, here are a few suggestions and rules to make it fair to everyone... This is a fun challenge and a friendly competition... NO ganging up on opposing members, OR taking it easy on your own members. Play as you normally do and at the end of the month after the final game has been played the points will be tallied to see which group gets bragging rights.

Rule 1 – The top three players (from the previous month) will be assigned as Captains of their teams and will get the honor of naming that team. (If a player declines we will go to next in line.)

Rule 2 – Teams will consist of 9 players initially assigned to each team. If any member of a team has not played for a 5 day period within the month, the Captain can request (via a PM to me) that they be replaced by the next highest eligible player (see replacement policy below). All points earned by the replacement up to that point will be added to the gaining team’s score.

Rule 3 – The Captain of the winning team will receive 90K chips to distribute to their team members (10K a piece). Second place team will get 45K. Third place will get 18K.

Rule 4 – This season we will still be using a scoring system that includes a combined score of Points, Games, and Knock Outs.

Replacement Policy – All players of the Drunk Tank that were not selected to be on one of the three teams will automatically be added to a free agents team. If a player misses five or more days the Captain can request a replacement. At that time I will assign the highest scoring free agent to the team. If this free agent has opted out for the month I will send them a one-time request to join a team. If they respond within 24 hrs, that they would like to join, they will be added. If they turn down the request, (or do not respond), they will then become unavailable for the rest of the month. Only one replacement will be allowed for each 5-day period, and no replacements are allowed in the final period.

I will add updates to this thread (approx) every 5 days as to how the teams are doing. Good luck to all three teams and hope we can have another close race this month.

Also note I have attached a PDF with all the team names if you wish to download or print it out.

The first period results for November are in, and one of the teams has jumped into an early lead. However, it is very early in the contest, and there could still be some come from behind winners.

Once again the team play and performance is outstanding. We did have to drop down to a three team format, but we will try to get back to four teams in the next few months. Until then we still have a very impressive crew with one first time captain leading the way.


Leaping into first place with an extremely strong combination of wins by Jordan2652, Megg23, Howitzer2007, and !!!111Dan who combined to finish in all 5 tournies was team Steamers. Congratulations to Howitzer and Jordan who combined to post 3 first place wins as well.

Allthough there was an impressive collection of wins by several members of the team, including Easychips 4U, BrayleeGirl, GTAE92, zzHoneyBeezz, 1Timmy2121,11Scorpious11, and Horsewoman72, Team Funny Farm fell just short to land into second place.

In this the first period of the month, Team Boozers now find themselves in third place, despite point contributions by Buzzz904, Julestubby25, Jwk24, Wetmoose 613, Dgg4, and Johnny Oak. Included was a first place win by Wetmoose.

When asked, Captain Oak said, "We have only begun to shake our leaves."

The new player will be Sculpt51 and she will be added to Team Boozers, and her accumulated points will be added to the receiving team's total score. This player will replace a player that has been inactive for over 5 days. Good luck to all the teams and look for a new update here after the 10th.
