Drunk Tank Team Challenge

The fifth period for January is now over, and one of the teams is holding on to their lead. However, the other 2 teams are not too far behind and still could make a last minute push, but they better make it soon.

Our attendance is starting to pick up again after our end of the year slump. Four out of the last five tournies were over 20 players. Though the participants are less, the participation is the best it's ever been and we are having tons of fun.


Advancing their first place lead with an impressive combination of wins by Howitzer2007, Jordan2652, Wetmoose613, Effsea, and GTAE92 who combined to finish in all five tournies, was team Rambling Wrecks. Congratulations for a great performance by Howitzer who managed to post 2 back to back first place wins, and Effsea who got 1 as well.

Still sneaking slightly behind with a great collection of wins by several members of the team, including Moxie Pip, Mischiff, Tom905, Rhino4646, Easychips4U, and Johnny Oak, Team Ninja Boozers was only able to come out of the shadows for second place. Helping out with 2 first place wins was Johnny Oak and Mischiff.

In this the next to last period of the month, Team Tanker Babes still find themselves in third place, despite energetic point contributions by BrayleeGirl, Chelle867, QueenBee9979, and zzHoneyBeezz.

When asked, Captain Horsewoman said, "It's hard to be a HOT tanker babe when the temperatures are below freezing."

Thanks to team Rambling Wreck for hanging tough this far into the month. I know it is probably coming down to these last few days. There has been excellent participation from all team members (except the captain!) and it is much appreciated. I will try to do my part and get a few points in these last 2 tournaments. Go Wrecks!

Ladies we have one more night to go and I will not be here to cheer on your efforts I think you all know I am fairly competitive and I suppose if I wanted to I could figure out where we are in the standings and what our chances are of pulling off a win but it doesn't matter because win, lose or draw you are all without a doubt the best team ever. We went the whole month with no changes, no substations, from begining to end we worked as a TEAM!!!!! I am so proud of you all, I know how difficult it can be when life interferes with our hobbies but you all put in the effort to come out and play as often as you could, it was incredible to see the commitment and participation, I can't thank you all enough for your effort. Love you all!! the inaugural "TANKER BABES" team you are all the first and you are all awesome.

Just a quick note to my team. While the wrecks were snoozing, we were Boozing.

The Chubby Mutant Ninja Boozers have taken over the lead. We came out of the shadows and struck in silence, but we are in first place. However, the margin is small and we can't sit back and lay a claim to victory just yet.

One more night to go, and it really is anybody's game. So please come out and support your team tonight. You might just set a new KO record and push your team to the top.

GO Wrecks, lets ramble back into the top spot

Sometimes these things are close, but rarely does one team come literally out of the shadows at the very last moment to claim victory. Operating with stealth and precision one team laid back and waited for it's opening, then struck with a flurry. In the end it would be a bunch of Chubby Ninjas who got to sing, "We just won the Drunk Tank, We just won the Drunk Tank."

Despite a valiant effort throughout the season and even some last minute heroics which included scores by every member of their team, including BrayleeGirl, CaseyBaby1, Chelle867, Phoenix Maya, QueenBee9979, zzHoneyBeezz, and Horsewoman72, Including a first place win by BrayleeGirl, team Tanker Babes has ended this season in last place. So if you see any of them trading in their stilleto heels for real stilletoes you will understand why. They do, however, win the third place prize of 14K play chips to distribute to the team members.

In second place for the season is team Rambling Wrecks. Even though they were in first most of the time throughout the season, and they fought hard to the end with impressive showings in the last period including contributions by 1Timmy2121, Jordan2652, Julestubby25, Effsea, and GTAE92, still it was not enough to catch up to the Boozer lead. They will get the second place prize of 35K chips to give to their members.

In the end it was the incredible steady performance of the players coupled with the always present and awesome support of Sensei Johnny that caused a win for the Ninja Boozer team. It was a strong contingent of players that combined for 11 ITM placements. Strong showings by nearly all members including Moxie Pip, Mischiff, Tom905, Rhino4646 and JohnnyOak including two first place wins by Mischiff and Johnny, that was good enough to launch Team Chubby Mutant Ninja Boozers into an exclusive lead on the final day of the season. They will split the first place prize of 70K chips amongst it's players.

Well it’s that time again. For this February we will return to our regular format. We will still have three teams who will be playing for top points and bragging rights, but we will return to having eight member teams. All members who finished in the top 24 from the prior month and had 5 or more games will be qualified to be added to the teams. For anyone who didn't, please stop in and play so you can be qualified for next month's Challenge.

As usual, here are a few suggestions and rules to make it fair to everyone... This is a fun challenge and a friendly competition... NO ganging up on opposing members, OR taking it easy on your own members. Play as you normally do and at the end of the month, after the final game has been played, the points will be tallied to see which group gets bragging rights.

Rule 1 – The top three players (from the previous month) will be assigned as Captains of their teams and will get the honor of naming that team. (If a player declines we will go to next in line on that team.)

Rule 2 – Teams will consist of 8 players initially assigned to each team. If any member of a team has not played for a 5 day period within the month, the Captain can request (via a PM to me) that they be replaced by the next highest eligible player (see replacement policy below). All points earned by the replacement up to that point will be added to the gaining team’s score.

Rule 3 – The Captain of the winning team will receive 80K chips to distribute to their team members (10K a piece). Second place team will get 40K. Third place will get 16K.

Rule 4 – This season we will be keeping the scoring system to include a combined score of Points and Knock Outs. (Dropping the game count)

Replacement Policy – All players of the Drunk Tank that were not selected to be on one of the three teams will automatically be added to a free agents team. If a player misses five or more days the Captain can request a replacement. At that time I will assign the highest scoring free agent to the team. If this free agent has opted out for the month I will send them a one-time request to join a team. If they respond within 24 hrs, that they would like to join, they will be added. If they turn down the request, (or do not respond), they will then become unavailable for the rest of the month. Only one replacement will be allowed for each 5-day period, and no replacements are allowed in the final period.

I will add updates to this thread (approx) every 5 days as to how the teams are doing. Good luck to all three teams and hope we can have a close race this month.

Also note I have attached a PDF with all the team names if you wish to download or print it out.

WOW, looks like really great teams again this month, should be a good competition as usual.

Great win for the Boozers. Congrats to everyone on another great month. To all my teammates: Effsea, Julestubby25, Wetmoose 613, Jordan2652, Howitzer2007 and 1Timmy2121, thanks for the valiant effort this month. Your captain sort of dropped the ball by not playing as often and keeping up with the standings like i should have. I will track you guys down this week and transfer your payouts. Thanks again for the outstanding play!

The first period results for February are in, and one of the teams has jumped into a large early lead. However, it is very early in the contest, and there could still be some come from behind winners.

Once again the team play and performance is outstanding. We still have our three team format, but we will try to get back to four teams in the next few months as the attendance picks up. Until then we still have a very impressive crew with one first time Captain adding to the competition this month.


Leaping into first place with an extremely strong combination of wins by Easychip4U, Chelle867, Howitzer2007, Firemedic815, Effsea, and Jordan2652 who combined to finish in all 4 tournies was team Rum Runners. Congratulations to Howitzer and Firemedic who combined to post all four first place wins as well (and Firemedic had 3 in a row).

Allthough there was a collection of wins by some members of the team, including zzHoneyBeezz, Horsewoman72, QueenBee9979, and Johnny Oak, Team Boozers fell short to land into second place.

In this the first period of the month, Team Stilettoes n' Workboots find themselves in third place, despite point contributions by Phoenix Maya, GTAE92, Mischiff, and BrayleeGirl.

When asked, Captain Bray said, "The stilettoes are for dancing, the workboots are for kicking butts."

One of the teams has requested and received a roster change. The new player will be FLSnookman and he will be added to Team Stilettoes n' Workboots, his accumulated points will be added to the receiving team's total score. This player will replace a player that has been inactive for 5 days. Good luck to all the teams and look for a new update here after the 10th.
